My Background
Before immigrating to the United States, I spent my childhood in Cambodia during the brutal rule of Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge. As a survivor of war, famine, and genocide, I bore witness to indescribable atrocities and ugliness. This experience ignited a profound motivation within me to seek and create beauty through art and poetry.
My work is a reflection of my unwavering belief in the power of beauty to heal, inspire, and transform—to counterbalance the darkness of the past with vibrant hues, harmonious compositions, and evocative imagery. I am passionate about creating works that spark emotions, invites spiritual contemplation, and transports viewers to a world of hope and wonder.
Artistic Evolution
My artistic journey began with traditional painting and drawing techniques, primarily focusing on landscapes. While I treasured the process and results, I yearned to explore artistic styles, genres, and subject matters that were beyond my technical abilities. This is where AI became a pivotal force in my artistic evolution.
Fusion of AI & Human Creativity
By enlisting AI as a creative partner, I have discovered a remarkable synergy between my imagination and the capabilities of AI algorithms. I prompt the AI to generate initial artwork that aligns with my vision, and then employ multiple editing tools—sometimes as many as six—to refine and shape the outputs. This fusion of human creativity and artificial intelligence allows me to craft art and poetry that convey specific moods, messages, and narratives.
