My AI Art Process

Before AI it would take me hours, even days, to complete a painting. Now it’s just a matter of prompting the AI and tweaking the results to align with my vision and understanding of human aesthetics…

I never post an artwork straight out of Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, or any other AI tool on this site. I use multiple graphic tools– sometimes as many as five or six– to edit, clean up artifacts, adjust color, composition, mood, etc., to arrive at the final result.

While I can’t say that the final results are necessarily better than the raw outputs, they do make me feel as if I’m part of the creative process, and that I am a co-creator of the artwork.

The AI still does most of the heavy lifting and therefore deserves most of the credit. My involvement is enough to sustain my passion for AI art.

It’s not just the jaw-dropping art that AI produces that intrigues me. My collaboration with AI has helped me gain insight into how machine intelligence works and how it might complement our own creativity and aesthetics.
